NEWS : Relativity of time

Considering that Albert Einstein’s view that time is relative throughout the universe is not well understood, I would like to give a few examples. For our Earth, a year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds. We started to make this calculation after Copernicus found that the Earth revolves around the Sun. In other words, since the Earth completes its circulation around the Sun in such a time, we accept this as a full year. For example, if this calculation had been made for Mercury, the time determining the year would have changed. Because the planet Mercury completes its rotation around the Sun in 88 days.

This calculation based on the rotation of the planets around the Sun is an indication of the change of time according to space. Let us give an example of this situation as worship: Let’s take two people. Let the first one be a Muslim who prays five times a week, and the second one be a person who prostrates his head only once a week. Both of them stand in the same row in the same mosque for Friday prayers. Therefore, they will follow the same imam, wait for the same surahs to be recited and pray the same rak’ahs. For the first person, the prayer of two rak’ahs will be over in a normal time, but for the second person, this time will seem like half an hour, even though it is a prayer that lasts five minutes. In other words, although the place, the action and the surahs recited are the same, the understanding of duration in two people will be relative. The duration will vary according to the condition of the person. Just as the duration varies according to the position of Mercury and the Earth in relation to the Sun… Such is the relativity of time.

Such verses are not limited to this. For example, “They ask you that the punishment should come quickly. Allah does not break His promise. Nevertheless, a day in the sight of your Lord is like a thousand years that you count.” In the verse [205], the relativity of time is pointed out by stating that a day in the sight of Allah is like a thousand years in our time. Or again, “The angels and the spirit ascend to Him in a day whose quantity is fifty thousand years.” [206], the news of the relativity of time is given. The Holy Qur’an foretells this news 1283 years in advance.
