Pre-islamic Age of Ignorance: Some of the Arabs denied the resurrection. Does he promise that when you are dead and reduced to dust and bones, you will surely be brought forth? That which is promised to you is far away. There is no real life except the life of this world. We die, we live, and we shall not be resurrected again.[579]

ISLAM: And certainly We created man out of strained clay. Then We placed him in a sheltered home in the form of semen, then We transformed the semen into an embryo. Then We transformed the embryo into flesh, then We created bones from the flesh, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We transformed him into another creature. How glorious is Allah, the best of creators! Then you will die after that. Then you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection..[580]

The word atheism derives from the Greek word theos, which means “God”. From this word came the understanding of “theism”, which means “having a belief in God” or “believing in God”. With the addition of the prefix “A”, it means “godlessness”. Philosophically analysed in two stages as materialism and idealism, the belief in atheism dates back to Greek antiquity. The existence of this ignorant thought today has come to the agenda again with the adoption of materialist philosophy by the ideology of Marxism. The idea of protecting the rights of the oppressed under this roof with the spread of the capitalist mentality, which lives unjustly all over the world, has been the reason for its emergence. The mistake here has been the inclusion of the Islamic faith in a reactionary or capitalist mentality. Thus, the wrong attitudes of the capitalist mentality were tried to be attributed to the Islamic faith. As a result of this approach, materialist ideology started to deny the belief in spirit. However, neither the wrongdoing of the capitalist mentality nor the individual wrongdoing of a Muslim can be attributed to Islam. To deny the word of the Creator without investigating it even once is to see the truth and yet not to accept it. The daring behaviour against His essence is similar to the flea on the lion saying “I am the king”. The one who believes in His existence but does not fulfil the conditions of faith is even more courageous than the flea, saying, “He exists, but He cannot interfere in my affairs”. For this reason, it is decreed that hypocrites will burn in the last level of Hell and atheists in the upper level. The Holy Qur’an informs about this judgement as follows.

Allah (swt) says:

urely the place of the hypocrites is the lowest level of Hell. You will find none to help them.[581]
