1. Surah Fatiha

1. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Gracious.  2. All praise and all praise is to Allah, the only Lord of the worlds.

One of the main purposes for which the Holy Qur’an was revealed is to introduce Allah (swt) correctly. This purpose was pursued as a result of the changes and destructions that took place in the previous books. Because it is important for its servants that the last time it started to speak and communicate with human beings, it determined the order for their good and happiness, and of course, as the most authoritative place, it attempted to introduce their Creator properly. When these explanations were not recognized as a result of the change in the previous Shari’ahs, unjustified and baseless discourses such as why is he praising himself? Moreover, there is no other worthy being. It also contains the warning of losing your honor and dignity by going wrong.

Notice that the verse does not say the Lord of the universe. It says the Lord of the worlds. He is the Lord of the whole field of existence, visible and invisible, known and unknown. Since the universe is the largest realm that we perceive with our sense organs, we consider it to be the only one, but this is not the case. By the way, I should also point out that it is a great mistake to put science in opposition to Islam. Science cannot reach the heights of the verses mentioned in Islam and especially in the Qur’an. First of all, that Allah exists, that He is eternal and everlasting, then that He has created all that will happen in a book called Levh-i Mahfuz, and then there are stages such as the creation of angels. But science has reached its highest limit. And this level is the fourth stage in Islam. Let us now examine that stage.

The big bang created energy, matter and time. This formation created the field of “Physics”. After a while, with the movement it gained, matter and energy became more complex and formed atoms. With the interaction of atoms in molecular structure, the field of “Chemistry” began to form.  And the earth, our only known living planet, formed different structures called molecular organisms. This formation became the field of the science called “biology”. In other words, Biology came into existence thanks to Chemistry and Chemistry came into existence thanks to the field covered by Physics. And the upper limit of Physics was determined as the universe that came into existence with the explosion. Therefore, none of this, consciously or unconsciously, can be presented against Islam. Because the existence of the Creator before matter, energy and time, as well as the theological mention of the stages of the universe before it came into existence, leads us to the conclusion that there are pre-physical realms and that they do not fall within the domain of science.

It is the Lord who realizes all these formations described in the discussion of the worlds. Because Rabb means the one who creates beings and raises them, educates them, trains them, gives them order, beauty and abilities. It is one of the names that introduce the essence of Allah.

In the first verses, He began to introduce Himself with two names derived from the root of mercy, His most fundamental characteristic.

3. He is the Compassionate, the Merciful, who has mercy on all creatures in this world, and the Merciful, who will forgive only the believers in the Hereafter.

The Merciful is the one who treats His servants equally in this world, whether they are believers, hypocrites, polytheists or infidels, and is fair to those who work and labor. Rahim, on the other hand, is the one who will treat the believers with mercy in the Hereafter and is severe against the unbelievers. Despite his unlimited power, he will treat us equally in this world because we are servants, and accordingly in the Hereafter because we live within our will. Let this explanation be an answer to those who accuse the servant of not having a will without having the sincerity or realization to understand fate. What is this approach if not recognizing that the servant has a will and that it is possible to will?

5. O our Lord! We serve You alone in worship and obedience and seek help from You alone in all our situations and needs.

6. Guide us to the right path, Islam, and make us live in Islam.

7. And guide them to the path of the righteous whom You have favored from Your bounty, O Lord, not to those who have rebelled against Your commands and have incurred wrath and have gone astray.  Amen…

O our Lord… O our Lord who brought us into existence, gave us form, sustenance, health and well-being… O our Lord who made us aware of Himself so that we would not be servants to others. We seek help from you alone for our own good and serve you alone. There is no one who understands, listens or helps us as much as you do. It is out of the question for us to please anyone else. Please keep us in Islam. Complete our mistakes and shortcomings with Islam. Otherwise, like the bad experiences of the past that you have reported, we may take religious scholars, abids or prophets as lords.

“And they have taken as gods besides Allah the scribes and the monks and the Messiah, the son of Mary, (while) they were commanded to worship only the One God. There is no god (worthy of worship) besides Him. (Allah) is Exalted from that which they associate.”

Even if we do not have these things, we may appoint other gods other than you and turn to them to provide for us, to shape us, or to appoint and ordain us, and seek honor and glory in them. And thus we will be of those who have gone astray, rebelled against your commands, incurred wrath and gone astray. Glory and honor belong to You alone. Do not make our nafs love what is not in accordance with Your will. We seek refuge in You from telling You things that will hurt You.
